Honeybush

DRY LEAF

Honeybush of South Africa, although prepared like tea, is not actually Camellia Sinensis (the tea plant) at all. This tisane brews sweet and smooth in a 4-5 minute steep. Delicious while hot, and especially lovely over ice. Caffeine-free plants grown under organic certifying standards for healthy people and farmland. Certified Kosher.

 What is a tisanes?

Tisanes are water-based infusions of herbs, spices, flowers, leaves, etc, where true teas come from. Basically, an herbal infusion or tisane is any plant-derived drink other than true teas. They contain no caffeine, but they do have diverse herbal components.

 Benefits of Honeybush Tea

The tea is used for nervousness, to relieve constipation, and to regulate blood pressure. It’s been known to soothe eczema and sensitive skin. Bush doctors used it to treat epilepsy.

Fun fact:

Honeybush can be infused into gin, brandies, and oils!
